The project is located in a Swiss village. The objective was to offer 75 living spaces and shops, whilst preserving the quaint existing farm. The concept was to prolong the village’s main street into a pedestrian promenade.
The materials used for the new construction correspond
to both the farm and the village houses in Borex. The cladding is
re-interpreted. It is transformed into openwork in front of the loggias, which creates
the effect of transparency.
The flats are distributed into 3 buildings, which
define the new public space. All have a double orientation.
Areas of circulation and services are grouped in
the center of the building. The flats have a view on the promenade on one side
and on the field on the other side.
The regulations imposed a maximum height, as well as a slanted roof.
